Legal Fellow Sponsor: $100,000/yr.

We plan to take three newly graduated legal fellows each year for our fellowship program. Right now, there is no pipeline for passionate law school graduates who want to commit to holistic, client-centered indigent defense work. With your help, we will recruit underutilized new attorneys from law schools for a limited term fellowship. We will support these promising attorneys to apply our love-focused values. Please email us if you’d like to sponsor a fellow.

HOlistic Services Champion: $250,000/yr.

Holistic representation requires an interdisciplinary team that addresses the underlying needs of clients and ensures better long-term outcomes that includes criminal defense lawyers, related support staff such as investigators, therapists, paralegals, Client Advocates, and others — all working collectively and on an equal footing with each other to love our clients as a family member. By seeking to ameliorate the impact of arrest and incarceration (e.g., employment, housing, nutrition, access to health care), our holistic model stabilizes lives, reduces recidivism and creates safer communities. If you’d like to help us continue to innovate in this field, email us to become a holistic services champion!

Capacity builder: $500,000/yr.

In order to reach our goal of having an inaugural fellowship attorney class begin in September 2023, we need to build a strong infrastructure. We will spend a year ensuring that skilled leadership exists to guide high-quality and culture-aligned representation. Our fellows will then be properly guided in client-centered representation and innovating holistic indigent defense. Our current leaders now solidifying our values are the CEO, Holistic Services Dir., Legal Case Mgr., Partners Mgr., and Services Coor. Future leader positions needed to strengthen our base ahead of the inaugural fellowship program are a Legal Training Dir., Development Dir., HR Mgr., Client Advocates, Business/Finance Mgr., and an IT/Software Development Mgr. When the first fellows graduate (est. 2025), we will need an Alumni Network Mgr. to oversee the benefits of intentionally building an ongoing networking community. Email us if you’d like to help us build this vital and necessary capacity!
